Understanding PTO Shafts
PTO shafts are essential components in agricultural machinery, industrial equipment, transportation equipment, and solar systems. They play a pivotal role in the transmission of power from a tractor or other power source to the equipment it drives. Here are five key features of PTO shafts:
- Power Transmission: They efficiently transmit power from the power source to the driven equipment.
- Flexibility: They allow for the angular and linear movements of the machinery during operation.
- Variety: They come in different sizes, designs, and types, including telescopic, constant velocity, and wide-angle PTO shafts, to suit different applications.
- Durability: They are made of high-quality materials like steel and cast iron, making them robust and long-lasting.
- Compatibility: They are designed to fit a wide range of agricultural and industrial machinery.
Our PTO Shafts
At HZPT Group, we specialize in the production of high-quality PTO shafts. Our PTO shafts are designed to perfectly match the sizes and installation methods of Walterscheid, offering a perfect replacement option. They come with a locking system that features a push-pull lock for easy and secure installation.
Choosing the Right PTO Shaft
Choosing the right PTO shaft involves considering several factors:
-
- Length: This is the distance between the power source and the receiving equipment.

- Rated Power: This refers to the maximum power that the PTO shaft can transmit.
- Shaft Type and Connection Method: These determine how the PTO shaft will fit and function with your machinery.
- Torque Transmission Capability: This is the maximum torque that the PTO shaft can handle.
- Environmental Requirements: These include the need for protective covers, sealing performance, and durability.
- Safety Features: These include reliable anti-jamming devices and anti-card pins.
- Compatibility: The PTO shaft should be compatible with your machinery.
- Certification: Look for PTO shafts that are CE certified.
The Importance of CE Certification
CE certification is crucial for PTO shafts for several reasons:
- Compliance: It indicates that the PTO shaft complies with relevant EU regulations and standards, ensuring its design, manufacture, and use meet the requirements of the European market.
- Market Access: It is a necessary condition for selling PTO shafts in the European market.
- Reliable Safety Performance: It provides a reliable guarantee of the safety performance of the PTO shaft.
- Quality Assurance: It conveys confidence in the quality and safety of the product.
Our Certifications
We are proud to announce that our PTO shafts are CE certified. We also hold TS/16949 and ISO 9001 certifications. Take a look at our certificates:

Applications of PTO Shafts
PTO shafts are used in a wide range of applications:
- Agricultural Machinery: They are commonly used to connect tractors and agricultural equipment such as mowers, harvesters, straw crushers, sprayers, mixers, etc.
- Industrial Equipment: PTO shafts are used to drive various rotating equipment such as pumps, generators, centrifuges, mixers, etc.
- Transportation Equipment: PTO shafts are also used to drive certain transportation equipment such as trailers, semi-trailers, and tow trucks.
- Solar Systems: PTO shafts are typically used to rotate and adjust tracker photovoltaic panels.
Adjusting PTO Shaft Length
Adjusting the length of a PTO shaft involves several steps:
-
- Remove the plastic protective cover.
- Shorten the inner and outer tubes to the required length, with both tubes being shortened by the same length at a time.

- Remove burrs with a file.
- Shorten the inner and outer plastic tubes to the required length, with both tubes being shortened by the same length at a time.
- Lubricate the inner steel tube, then reinstall the drive shaft plastic protective cover.
