Introducting the pto shaft
The Power Take-Off (PTO) shaft is a critical component in the transmission of power from a tractor or truck to an attached implement or separate machine. Here are five key features of a PTO shaft:
- Transfers power: The PTO shaft transfers the power from the tractor to the implement.
- Rotates at high speeds: PTO shafts typically rotate at speeds between 540 rpm and 1000 rpm.
- Durable: Made from high-quality materials, PTO shafts are designed to withstand the rigors of heavy-duty use.
- Versatile: PTO shafts can be used with a wide range of farm implements and machinery.
- Customizable: PTO shafts can be customized to match the specific needs of the equipment they are powering.
Our Production of PTO Shafts
Our PTO shafts are manufactured to the same dimensions and installation methods as those of Walterscheid, enabling them to seamlessly replace the original units.
Choosing the Right PTO Shaft
Selecting the appropriate PTO shaft requires consideration of several factors:
- Length: The distance between the power transmission and the receiving device.
- Rated power: The maximum power that the PTO shaft can transmit.
- Shaft type and connection method: Different types of shafts and connection methods are suitable for different applications.
- Torque transmission capability: The maximum torque that the PTO shaft can transmit.
- Environmental requirements: Considerations such as protective covers, sealing performance, and durability.
- Safety features: Reliable anti-cardan devices, anti-cardan pins, etc.
- Compatibility: The PTO shaft should be compatible with both the tractor and the implement.
- Certification: CE certification ensures that the PTO shaft complies with relevant regulations and standards.
Our PTO Shaft’s CE Certification
Our PTO shafts are CE certified. CE certification is critical for several reasons:
- Compliance: It ensures that the PTO shaft complies with relevant European Union regulations and standards.
- Market access: CE certification is a prerequisite for selling PTO shafts in the European market.
- Reliable assurance: It provides a reliable assurance of the safety performance of the PTO shaft.
- Quality and safety confidence: A CE-certified PTO shaft conveys confidence in the product’s quality and safety.

PTO Shaft Structure
A PTO shaft consists of several parts:
- Housing
- Drive Shaft
- Universal Joint
- Protective Cover
- Connectors
Each part is manufactured from high-quality materials to ensure durability and performance. We also offer individual parts for sale.

PTO Shaft Applications
PTO shafts are used in various applications:
- Agricultural machinery: Used to connect tractors to agricultural equipment such as mowers, harvesters, straw crushers, sprayers, mixers, etc.
- Industrial equipment: PTO shafts are used to drive various rotating equipment such as pumps, generators, centrifuges, mixers, etc.
- Transportation equipment: PTO shafts are also used to drive certain transportation equipment such as trailers, semi-trailers, and tow trucks.
- Solar systems: PTO shafts are often used to rotate and adjust tracker photovoltaic panels.
Adjusting the Length of the PTO Shaft
Here’s how to adjust the length of a PTO shaft:
- Remove the plastic protective cover.
- Shorten the inner and outer tubes to the required length. Both tubes should be shortened by the same length at a time.
- Use a file to remove burrs.
- Shorten the inner and outer plastic tubes to the required length. Both tubes should be shortened by the same length at a time.
- Apply oil to the inner tube of the steel pipe, then reinstall the transmission shaft plastic protective cover.
