Introduction to PTO Shafts

PTO or Power Take-Off shafts are essential components in many machinery systems, specifically in agricultural and industrial settings. They are designed to transmit power from one end to another, effectively powering a separate machine. Here are five core features of PTO Shafts:

  • Efficient Power Transmission: PTO Shafts are designed to transmit power effectively from the engine to the machine it powers.
  • Durable: These shafts are built from robust materials to ensure longevity and durability.
  • Flexible: PTO Shafts can be designed to accommodate different angles and lengths to suit various machinery setups.
  • High Torque: They are capable of handling high torque, making them suitable for heavy-duty applications.
  • Adaptable: PTO Shafts can be adapted to fit different types of machinery, making them versatile components.

Our PTO Shaft Production

We produce PTO shafts that are perfectly compatible with those of Walterscheid in terms of size and installation methods. This makes our PTO shafts an ideal replacement option.

Selecting the Appropriate PTO Shaft

Selecting the correct PTO Shaft requires a good understanding of several parameters:

  • Length: The distance between the transmission and receiving devices.
  • Rated Power: The amount of power the shaft can efficiently handle.
  • Shaft Type and Connection Method: Different applications may require different types of shafts and connection methods.
  • Torque Transmission Capacity: The shaft’s ability to transmit a certain amount of torque.
  • Environmental Requirements: Requirements such as protective covers, sealing performance, and durability.
  • Safety Features: Features such as reliable anti-jamming devices, anti-jamming pins, etc.
  • Adaptability: The shaft’s ability to adapt to different machinery setups.
  • Certification: Certifications like CE certification are important to ensure quality and safety.

Our PTO Shaft Certification

Our PTO shafts come with CE certification, which is of great importance for the following reasons:

  • Compliance with EU Regulations: A CE certification indicates that the PTO shaft complies with the relevant laws and standards of the European Union.
  • Market Entry: CE certification is a necessary prerequisite for selling PTO shafts in the European market.
  • Reliable Safety Assurance: The certification provides reliable assurance of the safety of the PTO shaft.
  • Confidence in Product Quality and Safety: A CE-certified PTO shaft instills confidence in the quality and safety of the product.

Our company, HZPT Group, also has TS/16949 and ISO 9001 certifications, further demonstrating our commitment to quality. See our certifications here: PTO Shaft Certificates

PTO Shaft Structure

A PTO shaft consists of several components including the Housing, Drive Shaft, universal joint, Protective Cover, and Connectors. Each part is made from high-quality materials to ensure durability and efficient performance. We also sell individual parts for those who might need them. Check out the structure here: PTO Shaft Structure

Applications of PTO Shafts

PTO shafts are widely used in various scenarios including:

  • Agricultural Machinery: They are used to connect tractors to agricultural equipment such as mowers, harvesters, straw crushers, sprayers, mixers, etc.
  • Industrial Equipment: PTO shafts are used to drive various rotating equipment such as pumps, generators, centrifuges, mixers, etc.
  • Transport Equipment: They are also used to drive certain transport equipment such as trailers, semi-trailers, and towed vehicles.
  • Solar Systems: PTO shafts are often used to rotate and adjust tracker photovoltaic panels.

Adjusting PTO Shaft Length

The length of a PTO shaft can be adjusted by following these steps:

  1. Remove the plastic protective cover.
  2. Shorten the inner and outer tube according to the required length. Both tubes should be shortened by the same length at a time.
  3. Remove burrs with a file.
  4. Shorten the inner and outer plastic tubes according to the required length. Both tubes should be shortened by the same length at a time.
  5. Oil the inner steel tube, then reinstall the drive shaft plastic protective cover.
